Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
HAWK Projects Pty Ltd (ABN 11 701 109 079), referred to as "HAWK Projects", "we", "us" or "our", is committed to protecting your privacy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, how we hold it, and how you can access, correct or complain about it.
Reforms to the Privacy Act are progressively expanding these obligations, including the phasing out of the small-business exemption and a statutory right of action for serious invasions of privacy in force since 10 June 2025. We apply this policy regardless of whether an exemption might otherwise be available to us.
The information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our work. This typically includes:
- your name and contact details (phone, email, postal address);
- your property address, suburb or postcode and site details;
- details of the work you are enquiring about or engaging us for;
- quotes, contracts, invoices and payment records; and
- basic technical and analytics data (such as your browser type and general location) when you use our website.
We do not generally collect sensitive information. If we ever need to, we will ask for your consent first.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you (when you call us, complete our quote form, email us, or engage us for work) and, where relevant, from third parties such as your strata manager, architect, or a referrer, with your knowledge.
Why we use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes;
- enter into and perform building contracts with you;
- carry out, manage and invoice for the work;
- arrange insurance, warranties and sub-contractors; and
- meet our legal, licensing, tax, work-health-and-safety and insurance obligations.
When we disclose it
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it, only as needed, with:
- sub-contractors, suppliers and trades working on your project;
- our accountant, insurers and the Home Building Compensation scheme;
- IT, email, cloud-hosting and payment providers who help us run our business; and
- government bodies and regulators (such as Building Commission NSW or NSW Fair Trading) where required or authorised by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our IT and cloud service providers may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
Security and data breaches
We take reasonable organisational and technical steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as needed or as required by law. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or artificial intelligence to make decisions that significantly affect you. If this changes, we will update this policy to describe how such systems are used, consistent with the Privacy Act.
Cookies and website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this site. It records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and which of our contact buttons and forms get used. This tells us which of our services people are looking for; it is not used to identify you.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit. You can block or delete these in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and the site will keep working normally. Google processes this data on servers outside Australia, which is covered under overseas disclosure above.
We do not run advertising or tracking pixels from any other company, and we do not sell or share this data.
Access, correction and your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to stop contacting you, at any time. We will respond within a reasonable time and will let you know if we are unable to meet a request and why.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version will always be available on this page.
